The History of ElectroCell Systems

ElectroCell Systems started its journey in 1997 as Chemfree Water Systems with installations in the pharmaceutical industry.  In 2001 and 2003 Paul Q. McLaine, President of Chemfree Water Systems, received patents for electrostatic water treatment.  Chemfree started manufacturing total skids with filtration, conductivity meters, flow totalizers and PLC control in 2005 and, in 2006, purchased a 15,000 sq. ft. office/manufacturing facility and expanded sales to include health care, utilities, telecommunications and manufacturing facilities.

In 2010 Chemfree created and registered a dba – Electrochem Water Systems.  Electrochem’s modular systems included filtration of total suspended solids (TSS), control of total dissolved solids (TDS) with conductivity meter, and a solid chemical dispenser to address corrosion and biologic control.  Electrochem built a large reference base of Fortune 500 installations and service.

By year’s end of 2014 our technology was perfected to a point where it was only sound business to expand our sales and take our marketing nationally.  We hired a marketing firm to re-brand our corporate image and we incorporated as ElectroCell Systems.  A patent has been applied for that encompasses the entire filtration system, addressing TSS and TDS.  A corporate decision was made to drop all chemical delivery from our system and concentrate on what we do best – saving water and energy.  (We work closely with the customer’s existing chemical company).

ElectroCell’s system eliminates 90-95% of all TSS down to one micron, with no media, and, through our electrostatic electrodes, enhances thermo transfer.  Customer savings average 25% on make-up water use and 12% energy savings on chiller demands.  Simply put, ElectroCell’s system enhances chiller and boiler efficiency by improving thermo transfer.

Our Vision

To become the organization that is most responsible for the world’s energy and water conservation programs.

What We Do

ElectroCell Systems has developed a skid mounted, side stream installation which minimizes any disruption to your operation, preventing downtime.

We have developed this technique to conserve water and energy by improving equipment efficiency. Our system’s operation is twofold. First, we remove 98-99% suspended solids found in water down to one micron. Secondly, we hold dissolved solids in solution to be bled out when the mineral levels become too high

ElectroCell’s commitment to reduce the consumption of energy and water within the facility enhances thermo-conductivity resulting in a cleaner, greener, and healthier operation.

a cleaner, greener, and healthier operation

Typical Savings

of 10-12% in Energy and 15-20% in Water Use in Condenser Open Loop Applications
